Description of the program:
The core of the course contains intensive language lessons, special seminars, lectures that last 5 hours and take place every morning. The course is designed specially for complete newbies and consists of intense classes on the base of english and german.
After classes the summer school students can attend lessons of setting the correct Czech pronunciation, Czech music lectures, art history, the history of Brno and other. There are special linguistic and literature seminars available for the most successful students. In evenings students can enjoy Czech films.
The summer school program also includes whole day excursions when students visit places of interest in Czech and Moravia. Those keen to learn even more can work in archives and libraries and may get consultations from professors of the philosophical faculty of Masaryk university.
Organization of the summer school: accommodation of students is at the campus. An approximate cost of living is EUR160 per month. Breakfast and lunch are included in the cost of the program and served in the university canteen.
Admission terms: the total course capacity is 150 students, however, a part of this number is reserved for scholars by the Czech Ministry of Education. The deadline for the course admissions is May, 31st, the full payment is to be made no later than on July 15th.
Course durability 100 hours.
Tuition fee - 40 000 CZK (≈1538 €).
Accommodation is paid upon arrival.
